In our first Meet the Team post, we hear from Hayley Clarke (Key Account Manager) and learn more about her experiences at Abingdon Health and in the rapid diagnostics industry.
What do you do at Abingdon Health?
“I am the Key Account Manager for Abingdon Health and my main responsibility is managing the day to day activities for Abingdon Health’s contract research and manufacturing clients.”
What does a normal day entail for you?
“My days are very varied, I may be visiting clients at their premises or I may be at our R&D facility at the BioHub in Birmingham or in York at our manufacturing facility. On some days I am home based answering emails, taking part in technical updates with R&D and manufacturing and participating in customer conference calls.”
What do you like most about working at Abingdon Health?
“It’s a varied role in a developing and fast-growing rapid diagnostics company. Lateral Flow Devices (LFD) and associated reader technology are rapidly becoming established in a wide range of industries. We have a diverse range of clients from small start-ups to multinationals, it’s exciting to be part of their journey developing and bringing to market new assays.”
Why do you think customers work with Abingdon Health?
“We are an innovative company with expertise in lateral flow development and manufacture, customers like our integrated approach and that we are able to develop and manufacture both LFD’s and readers. We don’t have a one size fits all approach – each project and client is individual.”
What are your interests outside of work?
“I regularly compete in running races and triathlons. Also, in 2016 I took part in the Myeloma UK’s London to Paris bike ride with my colleagues from Abingdon Health. I am fortunate to have gained a ballot place in the 2019 London Marathon. Also, I foster dogs that are being rehomed for a spaniel charity called Spaniel Aid UK.”
