500 kilometres in aid of Myeloma UK

London to Paris cycle ride in aid of Myeloma UK

Following the successful completion of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge by a team of seven Abingdon Health employees, a new team have come together to take on the next big challenge. Five members of Abingdon Health (and some family support) will be taking on the amazing London to Paris cycle ride in May 2016.

Covering 500 kilometres, Neeraj Adsul, Hayley Clarke, Marta Lasota, Allie Park and Chris Yates will be taking on this tough challenge to raise money for Myeloma UK.

The team are hoping to complete this Epic challenge within 4 days and raise money for Myeloma UK to help the charity continue their work in helping fund world-class myeloma research whilst increasing awareness and supporting patients and their families.

Myeloma UK is fronted by chief executive Eric Lowe who set up the charity in 1997 after spending 15 years working as a volunteer for the myeloma foundation in America. Abingdon Health are manufacturers of rapid diagnostic tests for multiple myeloma and have worked closely with Myeloma UK for some time. The opportunity to support the charity by taking on this challenge seemed too good an opportunity to miss.

The event itself is split over 4 days, with a route that takes in some beautiful scenery in the South of the UK and across France from London, to Paris via Calais, Abbeville, Beauvias. The final day of cycling culminates with a rare and privileged finale, entering Paris as one huge peloton under police escort riding up to the Arc de Triomphe and then on to the Eiffel Tower.

Donations

Abingdon Health would like to wish the team good luck on their worthwhile challenge and encourage those who can afford to, to make a donation online through the following website http://www.justgiving.com/Abingdon-Health/.

Good luck team!
