Why choose AbC-19™ Semi-Q Rapid Test?

People have different COVID-19 antibody levels. Therefore, detecting IgG antibodies to the trimeric spike protein correlates with virus neutralising activity and confirms immune response.

  • Semi-quantitative results in 20 minutes
  • No swabbing. Sample taken from small finger prick of blood
  • Easy to use. Less frequent testing
  • 24/7 international customer support helpline
  • Instructions in multiple languages
  • UK manufactured. UKCA & CE marked for use by healthcare professionals or trained lay users
  • Full training available to healthcare professionals or lay users

Frequently Asked Questions

  • AbC-19™ Semi-Q Rapid Test is a lateral flow antibody test. From a finger-prick sample of blood, the test detects the SARS-CoV-2 IgG  antibodies to the full trimeric spike protein produced in response to the virus or following vaccination.

By comparing test line intensity with a scorecard, semi-quantitative results are obtained . The intensity of the line, which can be seen visually, is proportional to the amount of IgG antibodies present in the finger-prick blood sample with higher levels of antibodies producing a stronger test line.

AbC-19™ Semi-Q Rapid Test can determine the levels IgG antibodies produced following infection with COVID-19 virus or vaccination. It will not confirm if you are currently infected by the virus.

  • When comparing the test line intensity against the scorecard, the line intensity correlates with the data table in the ‘How have the scorecard values been generated?‘ section below. A positive result showing a line intensity between 1 and 10 on the scorecard will provide and indicative  level of IgG antibodies to the full trimeric spike protein of SARS-CoV-2.

Regularly monitoring antibody levels will indicate when antibody levels drop and therefore allow people to interpret their level of risk. With this information people can make informed decisions about modifying behaviour. Determining who and when people are at risk allows governments to guide on vaccine deployment to the most vulnerable. For workplaces, understanding who is most at risk helps to shape return-to-work and/or health and safety policies.

  • The scorecard provided within the AbC-19TM Semi-Q Rapid Test kit enables the signal intensity observed on the test line to be interpreted as an antibody concentration in units/ml, with a measuring range of between 0-16000 units/ml. Line intensity values were assigned in accordance with the WHO Reference panel.

  • The body produces antibodies targeting specific parts of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) virus with the Nucleocapsid protein and the Spike protein being of importance in the context of antibody tests. The coronavirus nucleocapsid protein is a multi-functional protein whereas the spike protein is integral in penetrating human cells and initiating infection.

Detecting IgG to the trimeric spike protein correlates with neutralising activity, confirming immune response
and providing the end user with peace-of-mind on their antibody status.

  • The line closest to the sample hole is the test line (T-line). The presence of a T-line alongside a C-line is a POSITIVE result, the absence of a T-Line alongside a C-line is a NEGATIVE result.
